Deschutes Cinder Cone
Normally when I drink a new beer I take a moment to smell what I’m getting into, mostly to prepare my mouth for those hoppy hopmeister hopalicious quadruple IPAs you see a lot these days. Well, for some reason I just dove right into this beer and I must say I was quite impressed. It’s a red ale that just has everything good going for it. The initial roasted flavor is strong but not over the top followed by a soothing after taste. I actually finished it before finishing writing this review (which isn’t saying much since I can only type about 5 words per minute). I’d say if you’re ever in Bend Oregon, which for your sake I hope you’re not, head over to Deschutes and try this ale out.
